Things to do for all the family

With grandparents and toddlers and everyone in between, finding activities on holiday to suit the whole family can be hard. At Old Lanwarnick, we have lots to do on site for kids from 1 to 100, so why not try these things, and build happy memories together as a family?

A walk on the wild side

Everyone loves to reconnect with their wild side. And where better to do that than among nature? Luckily we have tons right here on our doorstep. Why not head down to our private woods to explore the Woodland Walk? See kids smile as they stomp among the leaves, clamber over mossy tree trunks, discover patches of pretty wildflowers, listen out for birdsong, spot lambs in the neighbouring fields, and hunt for the Cornish faeries hidden among the trees.

A restful spot to stop and play

After all that walking, parents and grandparents will want somewhere to sit down. Why not find one of our many spots where children can play to their heart’s content, with seats so adults can rest their weary legs in the sun?

Our newly built wooden swing set takes in the views across the whole valley. And a shallow paddling area fed by a natural spring provides somewhere to cool off on hot sunny days. Or why not take your den building kit – received with all summer bookings – to the old quarry in the fields? On this safe, flat patch of grass, children can let their imagination run free while building forts to fight off giants and other mythical creatures, before gathering triumphant at the picnic tables to have lunch all together as a family.

A game for everyone

It’s not just the little ones who get to let loose and play at Old Lanwarnick. If you’re feeling left out, why not find a spot in one of our many open fields to have a football match or see how far you can throw a frisbee? You can even bring the whole family together for a game of rounders than will soon get Grandmas, Granddads and teenagers alike fighting for the winning trophy!

And lots more..

Whether it’s meeting the chickens and ducks and hunting for freshly-laid eggs, raiding the board game library and crowning the holiday’s Monopoly champion, or having a picnic in the gardens while spotting the resident wildlife – you’ll be so amazed at what you can do at Old Lanwarnick you won’t want to leave.

Family fun come rain or shine

No one likes it when it rains on holiday. But it can be a chance to discover something a little different, and thankfully there’s still lots to do as a family when the clouds gather over Cornwall. Kids and grandparents alike will love discovering the famous biomes of the Eden Project – with activities for little ones and lots to learn for nature enthusiasts.
