Escape for dog friendly holidays in Cornwall with our cottages this year, and bring the whole family with you.
Here at Old Lanwarnick, we believe that dog-friendly holidays in Cornwall shouldn’t be hard to find, as they are a huge part of the joy of getting a dog! We know that you would never want to leave them behind when you go on holiday, and now you don’t have to! Our dog-friendly holidays in Cornwall make the perfect getaway for a staycation in Cornwall. A chance to explore the woodland areas and sandy spaces that our doorstep has to offer.
Dog friendly on-site facilities
Our stylish, comfortable, dog-friendly cottages are perfect for the ultimate relaxing weekend. Friends and family get to enjoy the perks of our spacious lounge areas, stylish kitchens and calming bedrooms. You can also make the most of our enclosed dog-friendly gardens with your furry friends! Our dog-friendly green areas are safe for pooches to roam freely and safely. You can enjoy the sunshine in the comfort of your own cottage while your pooch stretches its legs on the lawn.
If this wasn’t amazing enough. Our dedicated dog-friendly exercise area provides an on-site extended space for morning games of fetch. This is perfect for those inevitable days of inclement weather, where you don’t wish to venture far, but you still want to give your dog the chance to run. Our fully enclosed dog-friendly exercise area is something we are proud to add to our amenities list. We advise that owners who use this dog-friendly area do so with the understanding that dogs must be well trained and safe to socialise with other dogs on and off the lead. This ensures an enjoyable, dog-friendly, safe space for all dogs to have fun.
On the days when the rain inevitably arrives, muddy woodland walks, and sandy beach days with the whole family have to be on the to-do list! But fear not. With our on-site heated dog-friendly wash area, you don’t have to worry about mud and sand for very long. This dog-friendly cleaning area, that is safe and enclosed, gives you the space to wash off the day’s adventures. This means you can safely return to your home away from home fresh and clean, ready to relax!

Dog friendly woodland walks
Our team is working hard to landscape our extensive acreage of land for our guests to enjoy. We are currently extending our on-site woodland walk to encompass a stroll by the stream. Perfect at any time of year. This walk would allow you and your pooch to explore the whole 34-acres of land that Old Lanwarnick is home to. A truly dog-friendly wander through the wilderness.
If you are feeling energetic, then you could embark on a walk through the woods with a destination of The Plough in Duloe. A delightful dog-friendly pub that is family-run and serves delicious, home cooked food that is made to order. The walk requires some leg strength, as it takes you down into the valley and back up again! But with yummy food and good drinks at the end, it is worth the trek. It’s open Wednesday to Saturday in the evenings, and open for a traditional Sunday lunch!
There are so many walks in our area that we also recommend strolling in the opposite direction. As we are in Cornwall, hills are something that visitors have to get used to! So enjoy this somewhat hilly walk, taking in the valley and woodland treetops once again. Ending up at the rustic Jubilee Inn, in Pelynt. This pub is also dog-friendly and serves food every day!
Dog friendly beaches
Cornwall is renowned for being dog-friendly. Our rolling green hills, white sandy beaches and cobblestoned streets are perfect for our four-legged friends. Our woodland areas, beaches and eateries understand the desire to bring our pets with us wherever we go! This includes those beach days. Whether it’s glorious sunshine or damp and grey, our dog-friendly beaches close to our cottages at Old Lanwarnick are guaranteed to provide a lovely day out for everyone.
Within driving distance you have beaches on the south coast like Polperro, which is open to dogs seasonally. Plaidy beach, in Looe is open to dogs all year round, as is Lantic Bay beach and Lansallos. Delightful coves that dapple our beautiful coastline. If you are exploring the north coast, then why not explore Rock beach, Treyarnon beach and Porthcothan. These are dog-friendly all year round!

Dog friendly amenities
When travelling with your pet it’s important to factor in the possibility of them falling sick. We know how tricky it can be to monitor what they pick up off the floor, or in the wild. We want our guests to know that we take our furry visitors’ health seriously. Nearby you will find Calweton Veterinary Group in Looe. Open Monday to Friday, 9am till 1pm, and 2pm till 5:30pm. Their out of hours services are provided by their main premises in Callington. Just a 35 minute drive from us here at Old Lanwarnick Cottages.
